Kalamkari comes in various forms and techniques and certainly does not need any introduction in the world of fashion and art. Eight in ten women owes a kalamkari saree. It has beautiful print/hand painted motifs of flowers and God and Goddesses from the tales of Ramayana and Mahabharata.
Adorning this beautifully block printed kalamkari saree and feeling very proud to own the same. I decided not to wear a custom made blouse with it and tried making my saree colors stand out for itself by wearing my very own gathered sleeves crisp white top. In a way I feel I merged Bengal and Andhra Pradesh for gathered sleeves blouse ( top ) and kalamkari saree respectively. Feeling bong with a scent of AP and totally loving it. My basic idea to wear this white top with my saree was to let its beautiful colors pop out in crowd. But as I styled myself, I felt I mixed two cultures for good.
Accesoring my look with beautiful hand embroidered collection named – CHOWRINGHEE from my sweet little friend and jewelry designer Kanika Khetan, where she gets it done by rural women of India. So it has an essence of our country’s hard working women and that’s one of the reasons I am very excited to style my kalamkari saree with it. A bindi always adds more power in indian women for its beauty, so I had to wear it anyhow 😀
Ending styling my look little differently with a pair of brogues for its comfort and creating a bit of fusion to my look was essential to add that corporate feel to my attire.
